Algae Hydrocraking

Algae Hydrocraking Technology

Algae biomass can be daily harvested, concentrated, having its oil extracted and transformed into BioDiesel, BioJetfuels and derivates. Currently, algae industry is concentrating on producing just Biodiesel through transesterification.

However, Hydrocracking technology (HT) could be used in algae oil. HT is an important conversion technology for producing high-value naphtha or distillate products from a wide range of refinery feedstock.

By using these technologies we may be able to produce gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and chemical feedstock for plastics and drugs. The yields of refined fuels obtained by catalytic cracking of algal hydrocarbons are comparable to yields obtained from petroleum.
